SulaFest has definitely been one of India’s most unique and fun festivals over the last 10 years! Yes, SulaFest 2017 was their 10th edition, once again with a potent mix of great food, wine, drinks, fashion and music.  SulaFest is held in Sula Vineyards, near the Nashik city, which ups the tempo of this music festival right from the beginning. This gourmet and music experience has only gotten better and bigger over the years attracting even better Indian and International artists from across the globe, playing varied genres and keeping the pulse high for the goers.

This year being the 10th edition, the festival tempted us for 3 days back to back! The artist lineup was power packed with popular names including- Dubioza Kolektiv , Infected Mushroom, Hilight Tribe, Bloc Party, Nucleya, Indian Ocean, The Raghu Dixit Project, Loco & Jam, Swingrowers, Ska Vengers and Afro Celt Sound System and many more. So hey, it was tons and tons of good music and fun and frolic. There was so much to indulge in than just the usual drinking.  SulaFest was a runaway success with thousands of people showing up from across soaking in the sun, wine, music and most of all the good vibes.

Drinking for 3 days (back-to-back) is just crazy. I must admit, it gets heavy and can induce sickness, which of course restrains one’s capacity to enjoy the moment to the fullest. Thank god, this time, I had my hangover shield – LIVitup! It helped me not only survive the fest, but also enjoy it till the very last day to the maximum. It had me feeling lively and light (Well, pictures say it better.)

Yes, you heard me right. There is finally a product so good, that it can help you wake up to a hangover free morning. LIVitup is an Ayurvedic liver protector & hangover shield (2-in-1), 100% natural, FDA approved, and has no side-effects. Dr. Vaidya’s LIVitup prevents hangovers in the short-term, as well as  liver cirrhosis in the long-term.

Ahmmm wait, why don’t you try it for yourself?

A True Story Bride ft. Narayan Jewellers III

Wearing: Gold & vilandi choker with accents of pearls & emeralds, long detailed necklace with strings of pearls & squared gold statement pendant, maang tikka, detailed gold & jadau bangles, statement vilandi rings and a gold & pearl string nose ring; from Narayan Jewellers.

And the adventure begins!!!

The D-Day, the day when the Bride To Be is nervous, yet in love; she is holding on to so many small details, yet hoping to create magic. Yes the D- Day when all of it is just going to be worth it and beyond. She wants to enjoy the little things, and also hope that many more good things come to her in abundance. Along with so much excitement, she is also holding up to her outfit and more importantly her jewellery..

Well, an indian bride for sure knows that her wardrobe is incomplete without those jewellery pieces that make her feel so special. Specially on her big day, where she is wearing the most exquisite pieces to create that magic.

I would say, select them with keenness to detail as they are a part of your most expensive legacy and memory. Totally layer up them jewels, so that they can be worn many-a-times than just once. That leads me to the most talked and adapted trend this season ‘The Choker Fad’. 90’s did you say? Ha well, they have been lurking since forever, but somewhere we knew that their being in the style spot was always inevitable. The best part is, you can go single or style them up with absolutely anything, or any attire.

Why drop this trend on the D Day ? Narayan Jewellers helped me skilfully pick some stylish, yet so elegant pieces for my D-Day. Specially a gorgeous gold & vilandi choker with accents of pearls & emeralds like this! Its a total YAY with a long necklace like this one, which gives it an opulent look. The necklace having a square, intricately constructed pendant in gold pieces with vilandi strung with strands of pearls makes it stand out inspite of all the layers. Wearing two different necklaces together is extremely popular and sensible as it gives an opportunity to wear those pieces separately later in any desired manner. So hey, that adds up to a lot of evenings that embark your presence.

A maang tikka to highlight your gorgeous forehead, stack of vilandi, jadau & gold bangles for your beautiful hands, statement vilandi rings to adorn your fingers, and a nose ring with a string of pearls that slides by your cheek completing your look; are a must wear for the special lady of the evening. These pieces are carefully crafted to perfection with enamelled paintings even on the inside (a very intricate detail that will not be observed by everyone, only for the eyes of the wearer to fulfil the desire to feel nothing less than a queen). These jewels, promise of a lifetime, chosen carefully by your family & you, lovingly handcrafted for you by the most sought after designers of the time – Narayan Jewellers; to celebrate your big day!

As they say life is a beautiful ride, but it can be made more beautiful with lots and lots of love and some gorgeous jewels…;) Get your mojo on and pick some fascinating pieces from none other that Narayan Jewellers.

Sincerely, Su!

Well, well, well, Marriage! One of the most important and memorable event in an individual’s life. It is a merger of two souls, two families and a lifetime together. That part in your life when you meet your soul mate and the day when you take the promise to spend the rest of your life with that person is priceless. Particularly, a wedding is a very special occasion in every girl’s life. A girl and her mother wait for this day almost their entire life. And why not, it is by far the most distinct and the most enjoyable time in ones life.

In India, where weddings are considered sacred, all its rituals are celebrated with great keenness, love and lot of magnificent pieces of jewellery. Although, for the Bride to be, with wedding bells, comes lot of planning and fulfillments. The two most important things that first come to a Bride’s mind are the jewellery and the outfit for the D-Day, and all other functions.

Now, there are a million options out there, which ofcourse can get a bit awe-inspiring. But the Bride To Be needs to start planning in advance, of what kind of jewellery she is looking for fitting to her personality, face-shape, wedding day outfit and ofcourse her budget. Deciding on the jewellery should be done before the outfit selection or both hand in hand (rather than after). Mainly, because jewellery is an expensive and once in a lifetime kind of a purchase and should be done right, and your wedding outfit might never see the light of day again.

Every bride to be is on the lookout for the right kind of jewellery that she can pair with her wedding outfit (and after). I would say that a bride’s trousseau is partially incomplete without jewellery. As a Bride To Be I was equally lost in all the overwhelming options available, but then I came across Narayan Jewellers, where they helped me pick some stunning pieces, and ‘being gorgeous’ is an understatement for them! So if you haven’t started your D-Day jewellery shopping yet, and are excavating for some blamelessly beautiful and versatile pieces, I am bringing to you some wedding jewellery sets that I am totally in love with!

In this series of ‘A True Story’, I am portraying a journey of a bride for many purposes she is a part of and what she can rather choose to dazzle up her look. I want to take you through some beautifully crafted jewellery pieces by – Narayan Jewellers. Well, the day highlights the lifelong planning of a girl, ought to be A True Story..

In my first look, I am wearing multiple strands of polki aka vilandi that shine bright like a series of small stars when studded in jadau. The exquisite detailing and jadau technique is making it worth all the applauds. This necklace and its polka style is rather so versatile (neutral) that I can totally flaunt it every chance I get with a variety of outfits later. It will totally compliment any high neck (like I am wearing), any “V” neck, and also any choker I pair it with and much more.

This is a very classy design with a dainty floral pendant and delicate earrings. It can totally be paired according to your personal style, whether you want to wear it with an Indian lehenga / saree or even Indo-western gowns. The beauty is it can be worn individually or with other sets, raising your style quotient in however you pair it.

I have also styled it up with a very elegant, yet chic nose ring. Since I am keeping this look more gold and classy, this nose ring adds that edge to the adorning traditions in the most sophisticated way.

With no limits on her mind and heart, todays Bride to be is out there looking for pieces which can compliment her in various ways on her D-Day and after. She is smart, and can pick and choose wisely. So what are you waiting for?

Get this ‘Classy Polki Set from Narayan Jewellers’ and much more from their élite collection for your special day!

Being Effortlessly Fashionable is SEXY!

Wearing: Denim Kiss Shirt from Fancy Pants, Corset heels Espirit, Uk.

IMG_1017

IMG_1033There is something about fashion that has always been said, or rather dictated. But this sartorial connect comes to us with experience, with our love for fashion, and with the need to stand out, even after being effortlessly comfortable in our outfit. But was that really possible without adding that glam co?

Yes!! Right from the 90’s till date and may be this fad will continue forever. The love for men’s clothes! Ladies, we do steal “men’s shirts”, don’t we? (Eye rolls)

So what?

Right from Tomboyish moments, to the real girl trend of boyfriend jeans and boyfriend blazers, we were hooked and how. It only gave us the liberating feeling. Isn’t being relaxed, effortlessly dressed and being told how sexy we look; a great feeling???

This is what over-sized shirts do to me.

The best part is, how much ever we are hooked on to over sized shirts, we need no man for this inclination now! We can rather opt for these in stores now.

I am wearing ‘Denim Kiss’ over sized shirt from Fancy Pants on my plain white basics to bring in my summers with a twist! This shirt is easy, comfy, and sexy and over sized that I want to wear it on so many pieces. I have paired it with a basic bow belt and Corset heels.

As long as its not toooo over sized, its perfect to bring in my summers. The trick (I believe) is to cut down its boxiness, which is why I am giving my bust line a well-defined contour by adding in a casual belt.

Meanwhile, life was happening, and this shirt gave me the perfect morning ensemble. We went to this newly opened place in town – GrandMama’s Café (Lower Parel)!! Beautiful, Beautiful and Really Beautiful are the first few words for this marvel place. I am not unveiling the details yet, they are all coming out with pictures and an honest review in my next article. So stay tuned in for more on ‘GrandMams’s Café’..

Thank you Fancy Pants for this western style Denim Kiss Oversize, I am loving it!

Love thyself,

Sincerely, Su!

A Black Pencil Skirt! One of the timeless possessions a woman can own.

Yes, if you want to instantly sculpt your waist, look slimmer, enhance those curves and look well groomed, stock up your staple with a coveted Pencil Skirt.

Over the years, we have seen many trends and then we have also seen timeless styles. But no matter what when and how, the later will always have my heart. A pencil skirt is a perfect piece every woman should own as a wardrobe essential for that touch of elegance, sophistication and glam. Pencil skirts can be worn day and night, from casual to formal, and even parties.

This age-old style or rather ‘timeless’ trend has been there forever and is worn effortlessly by women of all body types. It might have started as an office ‘must-have’, but this enduring sheath really hasn’t limited itself to 9 to 5. Don’t believe me? Watch as I put this basic apparel to test and style it out in 6 different ways- from work wear to quirky fashion events to casual day wear with my girlies and to date-nights and to late-nights. Trust me, you will be covered everyday of this week.

However, before I carve my looks, I would like to highlight a few key pointers for wearing it well and multiplying your wardrobe with a single PENCIL SKIRT.

♥ Boost your finest features: If your bottom part is a concern, sticking to a solid colour pencil skirt is your best bet, especially black. Color your top with bold patterns, texture, mixing it up to build that illusion of curves.

♥ Dare to wear: Be adventurous, be bold and style new permutations. Mixed colours, crop-tops and folded / knotted shirts. This is a great way to show a little skin with that high wasted cover. And a high wasted pencil skirt is always flattering as it creates an impression of long legs, making you sexier.

♥ Take it easy: The look and feel of your pencil skirt should be smooth and easy. Especially when standing up, as bumps will show it is too tight. In that case, up your size and make it worth the stare.

♥ Slim it down: Good fit is important. Solids are important. Length is important. Also, Colour blocking is awesome with a pencil skirt to express your attitude. However, make sure that the darker shade is applied on the areas of your body which you are looking to slim down.

♥ Wear it in the Day: Wearing a basic colour pencil skirt (solid) can help you in any setting, whether a casual day, everyday meetings and even those last minute happy hours. Make sure you tuck your blouse / top in to emphasise your waist and define your outfit.

You will be amazed to see how easy, basic and wearable this Black Pencil Skirt is in various styles.

♥ Look 1: This bow-tie and pencil skirt was perfect for my daily official meetings and is easy to carry from 9 to 5. It gives me the verve to be sleek and chic, even at work.

♥ Look 2: This look was styled to make my pastel colour pump shirt look sensual, yet crisp for that formal and informal kinda day. Yes, it suited all off them.

♥ Look 3: I wore this for my girl’s night out! Big, Bold, Beautiful and SEXY! I must say, it got me the right attention and woo. There was black and white and gold and red and statement; perfect ingredients for my night out.

♥ Look 4: I wore this day to night for a fashion event and an evening out with my girls, making it fun and flirty and quirky.

♥ Look 5: This was positioned for a casual day look. I wanted that effortless basic and chic look for my daily wear. However pumping some colour with favourite Quirk Box staple clutch, really made it appeal well.

♥ Look 6: A gold glittery glam night out is something I live for and crave for. This look helped me satiate my hunger for that perfect spicy club night. Party On!

In the end, it just doesn’t get better than this! Its effortlessly classy and elegant, its feminine, so modern yet timeless, its sexy and my favourite; so much that its intoxicating! So get the look and get classy! I mean, toxic!!!

Sincerely, Su!

Did we even realize how this year started with so many new hopes, ideas and ambitions, we welcomed the New Year, full of things that have never been. We were prepared for new chapters in our life and we closed, ended and tossed some in the sea. We chose and we chose to give away our love, have a broken heart, give up and then hang on. Time healed what reasons never did. We chose and we chose, again to let go, we chose dignity, and we chose to forgive others and ourselves. And then wonders happened! Isn’t life all about that, anyway?

Now we are bidding October a sweet goodbye (with a French kiss), but as long as we are breathing, in our eyes, we are just beginning new love!

Talking about October, I have so much love for this month!! This is due to several reasons, which mainly include a lot of “celebrations”. Its starting festive, its parties, its weddings and was my birthday month! So as this month has given a start to so many celebrations, I try and keep things organized in advance. My mind is blown with so many beautiful outfits, SHOES, jewellery and accessories out there. I want it all (Oh, yeah!).

But most importantly, I have a ‘Shoe – Story’ to tell.

I came across this completely quintessential Shoes designer – Supriya Amin and her brand – The Shoe Shi Co. I am head-over-sparkly-shoes in love with these completely gorgeous and shoppable wedding (festive) footwear they make. From the comfort of how they are hand crafted to the glamour they add to my Indian wear says “WoW” out loud. I always want to have something pretty peeking out of my long tasselled anarkalis or long dresses or beautifully swaying saris at the weddings, specially to show off attractively done nails.  I love finding one-of-a-kind pieces like this and The Shoe Shi Co made it happen for me. I would say that craftsmanship of the Indians is showcased here.

They have a varied collection of many striking designs with different patterns, colours, fabrics and shapes. They had one for every occasion that I could just pick – wear – flaunt! They also customise one according to your whims and fancies. They are well made and cushioned, giving me that extra lil height without compromising comfort. I am totally crushing over how these gold, silver and all colours shine at me, and suddenly they all were just perfectly matching my outfits. The best part, they can be worn day to night – long after the wedding.

A complete mix of classic elegance, glitter, and hand made shine and goodness. It was simplicity well defined with feminism. Total love!

And then, a woman with good shoes can never be ugly; remember?!

P.S. Say ‘Hello’ to the wedding season with a perfect pair from The Shoe Shi Co. What are you waiting for; place your personal orders with them today for a pair for every occasion!! I already have!!

Sincerely, Su!

Since the last 6 months now, I have been cleaning my closet to get a better picture of what all am I really missing out on. As a ‘trend loving’ girl I have so much, yet I never have clothes, is what made me clean out. I got much of my stuff altered, gave away clothes and jewellery out of goodwill and got it all organized. So now I know what all is actually missing from my basic ‘must have’ list. I want more of buttoned down, clear and fresh shirts!

Granted that I do not work in a corporate world anymore, I have stopped wearing those formals and nicely fitted flowy shirts. They are just not a part of my uniform anymore. And this just doesn’t seem right to me.

Well, my vibe has always been modern, edgy, yet sophisticated. I want to make the traditional staple feel fresh by adding a lil drama (ofcourse). So, the easiest way a girl can look her best effortlessly? Yes! Is by investing in a good fitted white shirt.

SS TIP: Every girl should “own” a white shirt and an LBD / LBJ!

The classic white – a must have item, will always help one keep the look simple and definitive. There are various ways to wear it and highlight your assets correctly.

Now, wearing the white shirt also comes with a lot of do’s and don’ts and doubts. In order to get the perfect fit, I would never wear a tank top inside my white shirt and keep the top buttons open. Never is the word. I rather would invest in one good fitted shirt (avoid anything boxy, it will make you look big, and alterations can always be done).

Keeping the white shirt white is also a problem, especially in India. They do need to be replaced and I would say they have a lifespan on 20- 24 months only, depending on your usage. However, till then maintaining them is the key. Even though dry cleaning is a lil expensive, I would highly recommend dry cleaning them after atleast 2-3 wears. This will help retain its color, shape, and crispness. Girls, please avoid sprays and deodorants. Specially, as it causes yellowing in the armpits and after repeatedly done, these marks do tend to hold on forever. Do not rub any make up (near the neck) to avoid dirtying of your crisp shirt. Also, be careful with bleach. Even if you don’t realize, it will eventually make it dull.

White Shirt is one of the most affordable fashion items and it keeps you covered for a job interview, office wear, everyday leisure time or even when you have to make a statement. Getting the basics right can help you do it all with White!

You can customize the whole look by throwing in accessories such as scarves, belts, bags and jewellery and even play with cardigans, jeans, skirts and shoes.

Here I have kept it very simple as I am wearing a super fitted Ramanika white shirt and have button the cuffs, as prim as Audrey Hepburn. The sexiest length of the sleeve is the mid-forearm; you do not want to push the limits making it too casual. I have accessorised with a Bronze gold shirt collar. Beneath, a cute flair green skater skirt. To highlight the look I have worn a colour pop LYDC (London) handbag and Red Lips (Oh, yeah)! I am going for a meeting and want to look curt yet charmingly pretty so lenskart completes my look with those sharp frames.

Ta Da!!

End note, I love necklaces with shirts. Whether you button up your shirt all the way up till the collar and add a beautiful editorial statement neckpiece OR unbutton your shirt low (ofc, not too low) and wear a long neckpiece that will dangle just on top on your bust line. The wonderful thing about white shirts is ‘how versatile they are’, isn’t it?

Sincerely, Su!

For Denim on Denim, famously known as ‘Canadian tuxedo’, the secret is balance! Yes, this trend is so wrong, that its right and it is not going anywhere anytime soon.

On a casual day, I am running errands and finishing my shopping list in my super chic and comfy denim shorts, denim shirt and lace-up brogues (super love River Island). It instantly gives a street style vibe, effortlessly put together. Mixing of the washes is giving it a seamless flair and making it an ideal outfit to wear while out on the town. The noble thing about these pieces is that they are wardrobe staples and are sure to get a ton of wear on a daily basis, whether worn together or separately.

So styling the “D” Duo is not at all tricky, rather can be naturally put together. You can also see the A-listers follow the trend and get more inspiration on the same.

Bonus Tips – Dos & Don’ts:

Do: Use the denim advantage to highlight your body parts. As a rule, the lighter shades of denim draw more attention to the body parts they cover, while the darker contributes by giving a slimming effect. For many of us girls, it means, darker denim bottoms.

Don’t: No to denim accessories. No denim shoes, hats, handbags or any other accessory. Keep it confined.

Do: Keep it simple! Always works! With two denim pieces put together, less is more. So break it up with simple colours and neutral accessories to keep it clean. Nude / White / Browns.

Don’t: Match it all (never). Keep in mind not to wear the same weight and wash, especially if you’re a beginner.

Do: Play around with colours and the weight and wash of the denim. For beginners, mixing the right proportions is a must. Blues and whites and blacks and the shades can all be mixed and matched. Personal fav – chambray shirt with dark skinnies (Oh, So Fresh!).

Don’t: Do NOT mix up too many main elements / trends in the same look. Stay away from too much boho; you don’t want to look like a caricature. Minimal is the way to go.

Do: Distress. Don’t be afraid to rip your denims away (shorts or jeans). There is something about distressed denim look. The style and the attitude make it very chic and modish, giving you the refined look.

Don’t: Never go back in the days to take inspiration on this look, which undoubtedly went so-so-wrong-wrong. Example: Justin Timberlake and Britney spears (do check them out), you can never go this wrong then!

Do: Dress to tell. You can always up your look by adding statement slinky heels, sophisticated blazer or an outstanding lip colour.

So we are definitely breaking the rules by this combination. But, ey, don’t your eyes love it? Have you tried the denim on denim yourself? If yes, as always, we would love to see it! Please share your pictures and tag us on Instagram @sincerelysu.official and #SincerelySu, so that we can share your style inspirations with our beautiful readers.

Sincerely, Su!

I always like to plan my look in and around something prominent. But thinking about our day-to-day looks, we are all jammed in the same stock of attire: pants / skirts, tops / shirts, heels / flats, jackets and more. Accessorizing with baubles and a scarf or bags can add extra fashion potential, but all this has been done and is always done. This is what I always keep crunching my mind on every time I have to dress up and go out, even though if it’s just a simple and basic look. I am always on the run to add more or make it less for it to be more kinda technique.

We have been introduced to so many new trends day after day, year after year, and some of them just keep recurring and refuse to perish (thank god)! Such is also the case with the most pervasive fad – Fringe (and of course my oh so fav – crop tops too)!

Yes, Fringe can be the tricky one to pull off, but it works truly well on jackets, skirts, dresses, also on accessories like bags and shoes. I tried various combinations and it worked really well, needless to say I fell in love with its fresh, yet edgy flair. So now, I wanted to push the quotient a bit more and wear it almost everywhere. Also, it is soft and feminine which gives everything a lil bohemian edge that is ever-so-sought-after inspiration. So how?

Can I shake my basic look a bit more?

Can I have something more fascinating flowing in everyday?

Can I have the cake and eat it too?

Then, who run the world, girls? We! We can absolutely do anything and everything we put our mind and heart to. That is – no news. So I clubbed it all to my run-of-the-mill basic look. Wore my fav Zara denim shorts, with a straightforward and simple fringe blue tank top (Zara again, thank you). Honestly, felt like tassels dancing around my body (and nobody is watching). Definitely a keeper! Also, it gave my everyday look an incredibly-cool-glamorous touch.

The bohemian element inspired me to wear my corset heels (booties) to complete the look. So, jump start your ABCs collection and don’t pass up this retro stimulated look.

In the end, what do you think about this fashion repeating itself? Fringe – Yes or No? Lets talk more…

Love thyself,

Sincerely, Su!
